In loving memory of Josh Unruh.

Please consider a good will donation to Josh’s family in their time of need. Purchase one of his paintings, some are shown here, and there are more down at our center. Or just given out of the kindness of your heart. 100% of proceeds will go to the family to assist with funeral costs and anything else they may need. Give what you can, suggested donation $25.00, but if you can reach down a little further, please do so. I know he is watching us and would be so appreciative! His family was there by his side since his accident and took care of him 24/7, even while holding down full-time jobs.

Josh was born and raised in Kansas and has always been artistic and drawn to spirituality. His interests were fishing, rock hounding, writing, painting and rapping.

In 2022, when Josh was 35, he was in a serious car accident and suffered spinal cord injury resulting in complete quadriplegia. Josh never let his accident define him or deter him from his positive outlook on life. He persisted and eventually got partial use of his arms back. He began painting almost immediately, while still in his hospital bed and had used his painting as a way to express himself and retain as much positivity and independence as possible.

On December 12th, in his sleep, Josh suffered a brain bleed and never woke. He was left with no brain activity and remained in the hospital while his family arranged for donation of his organs, as this was important to Josh. On December 13th, Josh passed away in the presence of his family.

Josh never lost his positivity throughout his entire journey with quadriplegia. He remained optimistic and always had a smile on his face. He found ways to accommodate, to adjust, and to keep going.

Josh's paintings are an inspiration to those who feel that their lives are out of their control and to those who feel they cannot effect change in their world. Josh shows us all that with a positive attitude, belief in God and perseverance, you can do anything you set your mind to! He will be so greatly missed as he was a close personal and spiritual best friend to myself and to so many others. And I know he would be honored to have us help his family!
